Julia Watson [lecture and opening]

“Landscape Architecture Without Landscape Architects.”

The Study of the Subak system, sponsored by the Brown’s Faculty Fellowship allowed Prof Julia Watson to form a collaborative and work with the Indonesian Government to develop a design for culture, conservation and livelihood development to coexist. The lecture this coming Monday will explain this unique World Heritage cultural landscape, its ecological innovations, the threats to those innovations and the challenges of designing with a traditional community to preserve living cultural heritage – and more importantly our global conservation landscapes.
