Scripting in Python: looping, recursion, logic of computation

Ezio Blasetti, registered architect TEE-TCG, holds a masters of science in advanced architectural design from Columbia University after having previously studied in Athens and Paris. In 2009 he co-founded ahylo, an architectural design, research and construction practice as well as “apomechanes”, an annual intensive summer studio on algorithmic processes and fabrication. Founder of algorithmicdesign.net Ezio is 1/3 of Serge Studio and his recent collaborations include biothing, acconci studio and a|Um studio. His recent work as a project architect at Acconci Studio has received awards in international competitions – 2008 Annual Design Review I.D. / Perm Museum XXI / Kravi Hora Sculpture Park. He has taught generative design studios and seminars by means of computational geometry at Pratt Institute, the Architectural Association Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Columbia University. In 2004 he co-founded otn studio, a young design-build practice and completed several projects in Greece. His work has been exhibited and published internationally and is part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou (with biothing).

The workshops will run from 10-1pm and 2-5pm each day. Student must attend the entire workshop day session.

ATTENDANCE

  • STUDENTS FROM ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. This is a great opportunity to learn from instructors that are experts in their particular field.
  • FIRST AND SECOND YEARS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND. On workshops days, it will replace studio’s digital instruction. Studio instructors will divide their studio in halfs, with one half attending the workshops on Saturday and the other half attending on Sunday. You will attend studio on the day that you are not attending the workshop.  Please refer to your studio instructor to find out which days you should attend.
