On Wednesday, April 19th 2017 (5:30 – 6:30pm), the student-coordinated discussions series at Rensselaer, Positions Series, will host “What about the Rural?” with guest speaker Joshua Bolchover of Rural Urban Framework. The event will be held at the Center for Architecture, Science and Ecology/SOM

About the Speakers

Joshua Bolchover (Manchester, UK 1974) is an architect based in Hong Kong. Educated at Cambridge University and at the Bartlett School of Architecture, he worked for Raoul Bunschoten, Chora and Diller + Scofidio in New York before moving to Hong Kong. He is assistant professor at the HKU and has taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, London Metropolitan University, Cambridge University and the Architectural Association. In 2005 together with his colleague John Lin, Joshua founded Rural Urban Framework, a non-profit research and design collaborative supported by The University of Hong Kong. Independently, John has curated, designed and contributed to several international exhibitions and, with RUF, he has received numerous international awards like as the WA Chinese Architecture Award 2012 and the Curry Stone Design Award 2015 at will the Chicago Architecture Biennale 2015.
