SARAH REYNOLDS: ‘ CUSHIONS WE EMBROIDERED”_
Student recipient of the Robert S. Brown Traveling Fellowship Sarah Reynolds will present “Cushions We Embroidered” in a talk on Monday, September 18 6pm in the Greene Gallery. Her accompanying exhibition will take place September 18th-22nd in Greene 201.
“Cushions We Embroidered” is my attempt at making visible the women designers and architects whose achievements have only recently come to be recognized. I researched and visited building sites of eight women and who practiced primarily in the Modern and Post Modern eras. By bringing their contributions to forefront of our conversations here at RPI and within the field I hope their importance can be understood, inspire, and add further context to the histories we have learned thus far.
