ACADEMIC CONTINGENCY RESOURCES
To be prepared in the event of a campus shutdown, please make sure you’ve activated your WebEx and Box accounts (they are available to all faculty, staff and students). We will rely on these programs to facilitate “distance learning” if it becomes necessary.

WebEx
- Go to https://rensselaer.webex.com
- Select “Sign In” from the upper left.
- Enter your RPI email address
- This will take you to the RPI login screen where you will enter your RCS ID and password. You system may need to install a plug-in for your browser, if asked say yes. Once that’s finished you are taken to the main menu of Webex Meetings.
You can create scheduled meetings, or use your own personal meeting room, which will have a URL similar to this: https://rensselaer.webex.com/meet/wolser

Box
Go to: https://dotcio.rpi.edu/box-acct-request and follow the login instructions. As part of the activation process, you will have to respond to a confirmation e-mail. You can download the PC and Mac versions of Box Drive here: https://www.box.com/resources/downloads/drive
Inside the default set of folders in your Box Drive is a folder called Documents. Create any new folders you wish to share under that Documents folder. You can right-click on any Box file or folder to share it with colleagues or get a link you can share with people outside RPI.
Note: you cannot accept a colleague’s invitation to view a file or folder in Box until you have activated your own account.
VPN – Access campus internet
In order to reach the license servers for Rhino and V-Ray from off-campus, you need to be logged into RPI’s VPN. Please click here for installations instructions.
