This past semester, RPI hosted a group of students from our sister school, Kindai University in Japan. Led by the internationally renowned architect, Shinichi Ogawa, twenty-four students attended an accelerated collaborative workshop with Rensselaer students from our vertical design studio sequence. Using RPI’s campus as a case-study site, each of the student teams had the opportunity to engage in an inspiring pedagogical exercise that raised awareness about the importance of multicultural experiences for the education of an architect.
