Karlheinz Brandenburg [Acoustics Lecture]

Lecture: Architectural Acoustics Program – Mon Oct-21 10am @ Studio Beta / EMPAC:

Karlheinz Brandenburg, founding director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media technology IDMT at Technische Universitat Ilmenau in Germany, will be the guest speaker.  The title of the talk is “Perfect Auditory Illusion over Loudspeakers and Headphones: How to use the Properties of the Human Ear and Brain.” The talk will touch on historic developments and also on new results regarding spatial hearing and how to get closer to the dream of perfect recreation of sound.

Dr. Brandenburg is an electrical engineer and mathematician who is a world-renowned figure in the fields of digital audio and computer science. He has won many awards and is co-inventor on more than 27 U.S. patents.
