The 2019 Building Science Lecture Series exploring building sciences in the 21st Century continues on  Thursday, November 14th at 1pm in the Greene 101 with the lecture by Ed May from bldgtyp. This lecture is open to the whole school. Mr. May will be running a digital workshop in the Building Science Studio (GR 002) after the lecture. Interested students should RSVP to .

bldgtyp is a design and consulting firm based in Brooklyn NY. Through a diverse body of work including academic, residential, commercial and government projects, we seek to help our clients create the most energy-efficient, comfortable and well designed buildings possible. Ed is a licensed Architect and building performance consultant . He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2001 and a Masters of Architecture from Parsons the Newschool in NYC in 2009. Ed has been an Adjunct Professor at Parsons the NewSchool University as well an Industry Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ where he directed the 2015 ‘Solar Decathlon’ program. In addition, Ed currently teaches with the Passive House Academy the North American Passive House Network, and Passive House Canada and is certified by the Passive House Institute (PHI) in Germany and the Passive House Institute of the US (PHIUS) as a Certified Passive House Consultant.
