Being Human (-) Earth

Rensselaer School of Architecture continues its Spring 2022 Lecture Series this Monday, March 21st at 6:30 pm with the online lecture “Being Human (-) Earth” by C. Ciardullo, M. Morris, and R. Pailes-Friedman.

The purpose of SEArch+ is to advance human-centered design and shift towards environments outside of our own planet. Located in Brooklyn, NY the firm looks at industrial solutions to create healthy and efficient spaces for humans to transit to and reside on Mars.

With a focus on 3D printed habitats their team has won first place in NASA’s Phase I Design Competition, Construction Levels 1 & 2 of NASA’s Phase 3, and 100% Virtual Design. These award-winning projects include the Mars X-House V2 and Mars Ice House, as well as innovative and experimental 3D-printed designs that continue to push the edge of the envelope.

The SEArch+ team is composed of a diverse group of educators, innovators, and grant recipients who continue to break ground on Earth and beyond.
